Brittany’s Session: From Sarah’s Point of View

“The nerves leading up to the shoot were on high, due to my own self image issues/past traumas…but the second the pictures started, it was like a whole different person came out. Partly due to the magic Savannah worked with hair & makeup and the other part due to how much Sarah hyped me up behind the camera, and just the overall vibe she gives off. The whole experience made me see myself from a whole different view, that I wasn’t sure I could ever see of myself. But the second reveal day came, all I can say is I wish I would’ve signed myself up for this experience sooner, because WOW. If it wouldn’t have been for the very identifiable tattoos, I would’ve questioned if it was really me. And that I can’t thank you enough for giving me this new viewpoint of myself, Sarah!”

My hope is for everyone woman that comes into my studio will bring with them an open mind and an open heart. By the time any woman has come to the studio we have already talked about her session, sometimes more than once and I am aware of her nerves and any concerns.

Brittany came into her session full of excitement and nerves! She had some outfits prepared and was willing to keep an open mind. That’s all I can ask from anyone! We coordinated outfits with sets and started with hair and makeup. We laughed, listened to music and just talked. We shared a mutual understanding of working to be comfortable in our own skin. When hair and makeup was finally done, she looked in the mirror and I saw a smile spread across her face. She saw a spark in herself in that moment and so did I! We started with the session and did the first series to help her fall into the process. As the session continued, Brittany began to smile more and relax into the process. I saw that spark begin to shine brighter and Brittany began to enjoy her “ME” time even more. She was beaming when the session was over. We talked about her Reveal appointment and she was beyond excited to see the outcome.

The day of the Reveal appointment came and Brittany began to go through her gallery. She paused for a minute and then said “ IS THAT ME?” and “WOW, I can’t believe that is me!” This is why the Reveal is my favorite part of this experience. The moment that Brittany realized with unwavering conviction, that she was, indeed, beautiful in her own skin it was like a light switch flipped on. She walked out of the studio that day with her head held higher. She walked with certainty. She radiated confidence. It was an incredible moment to witness.
